Warwick Books
Mog and Pauline Harris are proud owners of award-winning independent bookshop, Warwick Books.
Mog is Warwick born and bred, and having trained and worked in Theatre Design spent some time working in Italy and France for a youth charity where she met Pauline. Pauline was born in Metz in North-East France, she is fluent in English, French and Italian, and also likes dabbling in Polish and Russian. Pauline’s role before owning a bookshop was General Secretary of an International Youth Charity and has embraced her new life in the UK becoming part of the community.
Both are avid readers with a passion for books and community and were delighted to get the opportunity to return to Warwick to take over the bookshop. Since taking over the shop in 2015, they have won numerous awards, established a popular events calendar attracting some well-respected literary names to the town and contributed to some important community events.
They enjoy supporting authors and librarians at all stages of their careers and have established some treasured relationships with them.
Highlights of their half a decade in the book trade include intimate events in the shop with debut authors, attending Michael Bond’s Memorial, engaging young people in reading with schools, meeting Judith Kerr who created Mog’s namesake literary cat and the day Mog failed to recognise the nation’s most famous author and tried to tell them off for writing in a book before paying for it!
