Alan Hurcombe

Alan Hurcombe is currently undertaking fractional finance and operations roles in Berghahn Books, in academic publishing and in Aldates Global Education, an independent schools’ group. For the 6 years to June 2024 he was the Chief Operating Officer at Hachette Learning (formerly Hodder Education), a division of Hachette UK. In this time, he was responsible for commercial and strategic financial support to the division together with operational responsibility for supply chain, production and product management, including design and content development. In his final 18 months at Hachette Learning, he focused on the digital transformation of the business, including new cloud and AI-based platforms and modern data analytics.
